Access Statement for Mynd Court
This statement does not contain personal opinions as to our suitability for those with access needs, but aims to simply and accurately describe the facilities and services that we offer all our guests/visitors.
Introduction
Mynd Court provides self catering accommodation in the town of Church Stretton within the conservation area and a short walk to the centre. The property was built in 1905 but the self catering accommodation is a ground floor, self contained, conversion and new build to provide a one bedroomed dwelling that was completed in January 2014. There is no restricted access, external and internal doors suitable for standard wheel chair access.

If spending some time in the town before coming to the accommodation, turn into Church Stretton from the A49 and follow the signs for the main parking area which is in the centre of the town. Toilet facilities are situated at the car park opposite the Co-op supermarket.
Arrival and Car Parking facilities
The drive to the house is on the right hand side of Longhills Road and is clearly signed. It has a wide entrance and the single story accommodation is clearly visible on the left side of the main house as is the sign for guest parking. The parking area for the accommodation is within 5 meters of the front door. We shall either be on site awaiting your arrival or the key for the inner lobby door will be in a coded key safe situated to the right hand side of the front door – the combination number will be sent to you by us prior to your arrival.
Rooms in general
All the rooms are on one level and all have oak board flooring. There is LED lighting throughout with standard lamps and table lamps for additional lighting although there is plenty of natural light.
Sitting Room
Approached via the Lobby. Both the outer and inner doors are wide enough for a standard wheelchair. It contains two leather chairs, one L shaped settee( which converts into a double bed), a coffee table, T.V with Sky box, DVD player all with remote controls, ipod docking station, bookcase, sideboard, occasional table, lamp, log basket and rug. All furniture is moveable.
The sitting room also has a fixed log burner. Instructions for lighting etc can be found in the general information folder situated upon the sideboard and a fireguard can be provided if requested. An additional carbon monoxide alarm is situated above the book case. An open arch way leads to the kitchen and a passageway to the bedroom and bathroom.
Bedroom
The doorway is wide enough for a standard wheelchair. The room contains a super king size zip and link bed that will be prepared as per request by the guest into either two singles or a double. The room also contains two bedside cabinets, a wardrobe and a dressing table with mirror and stool. Two LED shaded wall lights with flexible reading arms are positioned above the head of the beds.
Bathroom
The doorway is wide enough for a standard wheelchair. The bathroom contains an enclosed shower compartment a separate bath with additional hair washing shower attachment, standard height toilet and a vanity unit with sink and large wall mirror with lights and shaving plug connection.
Kitchen
There is an open archway into the kitchen wide enough for a standard wheelchair. The fixed work surfaces and cupboards are at standard height and the room also contains a table and four chairs. There is a front loading dishwasher, washing machine and tumble drier, electric hob and separate electric oven, fridge with separate freezer, kettle, toaster and microwave and is fully equipped with crockery, cutlery and cooking equipment. All instructions for the equipment can be found in the kitchen drawer.
Outside
The accommodation enjoys its own secluded and exclusive patio area accessed along the front of the building wide enough for a standard wheelchair. There is one 3” step and a ramp can be provided. The patio contains a table, parasol, four directors chairs, two sun loungers, two power points and a portable barbecue. Instructions regarding the barbecue can be found in the kitchen drawer. The light for the patio area is switched on by the marked switch in the lobby
There is a boot washing sink, hose and brush near the front door to the accommodation.
From the patio area steps lead down to the lockable bike store( key for which may be found in the sideboard drawer in the sitting room). The facility can also be accessed via a more gentler set of steps/pathway at the end of the lawn. There is a bike washing hose and brush facility situated around the corner from the door. The bike store contains a pump that fits different types of valves, a puncture repair outfit and some tyre levers. Other repair tools can be provided upon request.
There are security lights situated at the front door of the accommodation, above the bike store and above the bike washing facility.
The accommodation is non smoking but guests may smoke outside on the patio area.
